However, during these three quarters, the student must either earn a high school diploma or pass the GED examination to enroll as a regular student and pursue further studies at the College.

Students who have completed secondary school in another country are also admitted under the Ability to Benefit policy and have up to three quarters to obtain an official copy of their school records.
Students will be accepted into the A.A.S. degree program only with a high school diploma or GED diploma. The complete ATB policy is on file in the offices of the Director of Program Operations and Financial Aid and the Director of Admissions.

Special Program Admission
Students who apply to any program sponsored by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) or other sponsored program will be required to provide documentation that they meet the eligibility requirements of WIA or other program sponsors. Admissions requirements may also be revised for these contractual programs.

Part-time Admission
Applicants who want to enroll in one or two classes, rather than a complete program sequence, will be admitted if space is available.

Enrollment Procedures
All applicants must complete an application for admission. An Admissions Representative will then conduct a personal interview to determine an applicant’s educational background, work experience, career goals, and motivation. Applicants must take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). In addition, students enrolling in the Computer Network Technology program must demonstrate a basic understanding of personal computers.

An applicant who possesses a high school diploma but performs poorly on the entrance examination must improve his/her academic skills and may re-apply at a later date.

After applicants are notified of acceptance, the College will request an official high school transcript or GED diploma.

The student must meet with a Financial Aid Officer to arrange for tuition payment and/or apply for financial aid, if appropriate. All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid.

An applicant is considered to have enrolled at The College of Office Technology when a tuition payment(s)has been made and accepted by the school from the student or any other person on his/her behalf.
