Admissions and Enrollment
At the College of Office Technology, applications are welcomed year round. The College tries to accommodate each and every applicant who possesses the motivation and ability to succeed in their chosen course of study. Not every applicant is ensured acceptance and admission requirements vary based on the applicant's program of study. Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and not enrolled in a secondary school. In addition, admittance can not be awarded unless the prospective student has his or her high school diploma or GED or passes the Ability to Benefit (ATB) test.
Although the College reserves the right to accept or reject any applicant based on school records, test scores, or personal interview, the administration makes every effort to accept applicants who possess the ability and motivation to complete their chosen program of study.
Believe in Yourself and Get Started Today:
Regular Admission
To be admitted as a regular student in any of the College's programs, an applicant must have attained the following:
- Be at least 17 years of age and not currently be enrolled in a secondary school.
- Have a high school diploma or GED diploma.
Ability to Benefit Admission
Applicants who do not have a high school diploma or GED but show Ability To Benefit by passing both the admissions interview and the Ability to Benefit examination may study up to three quarters in the Microcomputer Business Systems Certificate program.
However, during these three quarters, the student must either earn a high school diploma or pass the GED examination to enroll as a regular student and pursue further studies at the College.
Students who have completed secondary school in another country are also admitted under the Ability to Benefit policy and have up to three quarters to obtain an official copy of their school records.
Students will be accepted into the A.A.S. degree program only with a high school diploma or GED diploma. The complete ATB policy is on file in the offices of the Director of Program Operations and Financial Aid and the Director of Admissions.
Special Program Admission
Students who apply to any program sponsored by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) or other sponsored program will be required to provide documentation that they meet the eligibility requirements of WIA or other program sponsors. Admissions requirements may also be revised for these contractual programs.
Part-time Admission
Applicants who wish to enroll in one or two classes, rather than a complete program sequence, will be admitted if space is available.
